National family benefit scheme (NFBS)
National Social Assistance Programme (N.S.A.P) was introduced in the HMC from the year 1996.
Eligibility criteria

The ‘primary breadwinner’ will be the member of the household- male or female- whose earning contribute substantially to the total household income.

The death of such a primary breadwinner should have occurred while he or she is in the age group of 18 to 59 years i.e. more than 18 years of age and less than 60 years of age.

The bereaved household qualifies as below the poverty line according to the criterion prescribed by the Government of India.
Amount
The assistance under this scheme will be Rs. 40000/- (lump sum) in the case of death of the primary breadwinner.
